Hey everyone. I know we are all waiting eagerly to get our hands on the alpha. I figured in the meantime I would share a playlist of 8 new wave songs. I don't like to assume, so let say I imagine many of you guys (and girls) aren't afraid to enjoy new wave music. Some of these songs are old, from a time when new wave meant new. And some songs are new, because sometimes what's old becomes cool again!

I was having trouble embedding a working playlist and I didn't want 8 videos in 1 post. So here is the track list and a link to the playlist on YouTube.

Also only the first song doesn't have a video.

1 - The Epoxies - Here in the Dark - 2007

2 - The English Beat - I Confess - 1982

3 - Real Life - Catch Me I'm Falling - 1983

4 - Young Digerati - The Dauphin - 2012

5 - Futurecop! - Dictionary feat. Future Holotape -2014

6 - When In Rome - The Promise - 1988

7 - The Naked And Famous - All Of This - 2010

8 - Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart - 1980

ps. I was also thinking of making a synthpunk playlist. If anyone is into it that is.

Nice playlist, I've listened to some of it before but didn't know New Wave was a thing until now, so thanks! My own playlist just got eight new songs. Also looking forward to the Synthpunk playlist. :D

If you die, don't come crying to me about it.

The Swans covered "Love will tear us apart". Twice. I like both versions way more than the original.

That's quite the bold statement Jim. To each his own I guess. But in my opinon no one can beat Ian Curtis' vocals. Of those two versions though the prefer the one with the male lead.

That's why I wrote "I like both versions way more than the original." instead of "Both versions are way better than the original.".

So it's not a bold statement. It's a simple fact about my taste in music.

I have to listen to some more songs from that playlist. I still don't have a grasp of what makes something "New Wave".
